Kissei Pharmaceutical raised its consolidated revenue forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 from ¥88.7 billion to ¥89.0 billion and its operating profit forecast from ¥2.0 billion to ¥2.5 billion. The main factors were a reduction in the sales outlook for Tabuneos and increased orders in the information services business. Lower depreciation resulting from the recognition of an extraordinary loss in the first half and a review of expense allocation also contributed.
After trading ended on the 4th, Kissei Pharmaceutical announced that it had raised its consolidated earnings forecasts for the fiscal year ending March 2027, with revenue revised from ¥88.7 billion to ¥89.0 billion and operating profit from ¥2.0 billion to ¥2.5 billion. It also disclosed its interim financial results, and the upward revision was well received.
The revenue upgrade was attributed to increased orders, mainly in the information services business, despite a reduction in the sales outlook for Tabuneos. In the first half, the company recognized long-term prepaid expenses related to Tabuneos as an extraordinary loss. The resulting decrease in depreciation and a review of expense allocation also boosted profit.
Net income, however, was revised down to ¥10.0 billion, down 27.4% year on year. In the interim financial results for the six months ended September announced the same day, revenue was ¥45.5 billion, operating profit was ¥1.694 billion and net income was ¥5.191 billion.
