NEC will expand CyIOC’s global operating structure, opening a European base in April 2027 and establishing 24-hour monitoring across Japan, Europe and the United States in July of the same year. Support for data requirements and reporting obligations will also be strengthened.
NEC will expand the global operating structure of its next-generation cybersecurity service, CyIOC. In April 2027, it will open a European base for the Cyber Intelligence & Operation Center, benchmarked against advanced security standards, and plans to establish a Follow the Sun structure through coordination among Japan, Europe and the United States in July of the same year.
Under the new structure, each base will provide 24/365 monitoring and operations during its region’s business hours under a common security platform and set of operating standards, creating an environment in which the security status of the entire group can be centrally monitored. This will support global security governance led by NEC’s headquarters in Japan.
The structure will support the organization of information from the detection of incidents occurring at overseas bases through to reporting, strengthening the ability of NEC’s headquarters in Japan to meet reporting obligations to the authorities. Before the structure is fully established, the relevant features are scheduled to become available when the ACD Act comes into force.
The structure will also address regional data storage requirements. The European base will store data within Europe while achieving global operations under the control of NEC’s headquarters in Japan. Coverage will subsequently be expanded to other regions, including the United States.
