Meidi-ya Hiroo Store will reopen after refurbishment on 30 October, enhancing its positioning as a flagship store. A Maison Kayser shop-in-shop will be introduced, along with Ginza Aster Chinese prepared foods and a refurbishment of the wine section.
Meidi-ya Hiroo Store, located on the first floor of Hiroo Plaza in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, reopened after refurbishment on 30 October. The flagship store, which has long been familiar to customers as the “face of Meidi-ya,” will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year and is being redesigned to welcome new customer segments.
The refurbished retail floor area is approximately 324 tsubo (approximately 1,072 sq m), creating a large-format store suited to its location near Hiroo Station and the surrounding environment. The retail floor is larger than that of the Jiyugaoka Store, which opened in September.
The refurbishment focuses on 3 areas: the introduction of a Maison Kayser shop-in-shop, the addition of Chinese prepared foods from Ginza Aster, which marked its 100th anniversary, and the refurbishment of the wine and liquor section, which carries approximately 650 varieties.
The delicatessen section has been expanded, with a wider selection of Deli Bake breads and prepared foods centered on Western-style dishes. New menu items, including penne with bacon and mushroom cream sauce, will be added to the lineup.
