CafeGroup announced that it had invested in ゲームガム and entered into a capital and business alliance. The partnership is intended to support the global rollout of Japan-originated IP using Roblox, with the two companies providing ongoing support over the medium to long term.
Alongside the investment, the companies will launch a business partnership aimed at jointly developing large-scale games on Roblox. CafeGroup will provide creative resources, including 3D CGI and animation production, as well as business and sales support, while ゲームガム will handle game planning, development, operations and publishing, and build the development structure.
As an IP company specializing in Roblox, ゲームガム aims to take Japan-originated brands global and has experience developing games based on characters from films, anime and manga. The capital alliance is intended to promote diversified business development through collaboration between the two companies, alongside ongoing support through the investment.
Through the partnership, the companies aim to accelerate the global rollout of Japan-originated IP and create new business opportunities, including merchandise sales originating from games. The investment was a Hyperion-led pre-seed round, with participation from Incubate Fund and CafeGroup.
