The release date for iOS27.2, rather than the iOS24 series, has yet to be announced, but it is reportedly possible that it will be released in October. The beta 4 version has confirmed the operation of new features, including Japanese support for Siri AI.
Apple has not announced the official release date for iOS 27.2, but released beta 4 on 13 October local time and indicated that the language expansion would proceed during October. The announcement refers to the timing of the language expansion and does not promise a release date; if the process takes longer, the release could slip into November.
Access to Siri AI depends on the device. The supported devices are expected to be the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max and later models, while the iPhone 15/15 Plus and iPhone 14 and earlier models are not expected to be supported.
Siri AI’s Japanese support expands the service to a total of 6 languages in the iOS 27.2 beta, including 5 additional languages. One of the main functions available in Japanese is the ability to perform multiple tasks consecutively, such as searching for trains while asking about the meeting time in an email.
The message app’s suggestion feature has returned in the beta, allowing users to create reminders and calendar entries and search photos with a single tap. However, its practical benefit in Japan may be limited given the widespread use of LINE.
