The forum titled PI FORUM 2026 will be held on 29 October at PASONA SQUARE in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo, where participants will discuss the growth of the food culture industry and the potential for achieving Japanese-style well-being. Keynote and panel sessions will explore the industry’s economic potential and its links to the prosperity of communities and people.
The forum will focus on the potential of the “food culture industry,” which spans agriculture, forestry and fisheries, food manufacturing, distribution and food service, as well as tourism, health and technology. It will examine, from both policy and business-practice perspectives, how industry growth can contribute to relationships among people, communities and nature. Japanese-style well-being will be considered from the perspective of creating new value centered on food.
Ueda of the PIVOT Food Culture Industry Team at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry will speak at the keynote seminar, explaining the food culture industry’s economic potential and a vision for growth linked to the prosperity of communities and working people.
The panel discussion will address practical initiatives and potential based on specific examples from three perspectives: “food tech × business co-creation,” “food × health and pre-illness care,” and “agriculture × regional revitalization.”
Advance registration through the official website is required, with registration closing on 23 October 2026. The event will be held in the 16th-floor hall at PASONA SQUARE, and a networking reception is scheduled for the building’s 17th floor. An archived recording is also scheduled to be made available at a later date.
