Oji Holdings Corporation indicated that it would advance data use by deploying BI tools on existing systems without waiting for company-wide ERP implementation. Executive Officer Fujikawa Kenji (藤川 健志), who oversees DX, discussed how to pursue DX that delivers practical benefits and the outlook for developing a future data infrastructure.
Oji Holdings Corporation accelerated its DX initiatives in earnest in 2023 and adopted a policy of using BI tools to advance data use without waiting for company-wide integration of its core systems. It established a DX Promotion Department of approximately 10 people in February 2024. The strategy centered on data-driven management, with an emphasis on visualizing results rather than treating tool implementation itself as the objective. Executive Officer Fujikawa Kenji (藤川 健志) explained the background and future outlook.
DX began in earnest two laps behind, but in light of that delay the company did not rush into a blanket ERP implementation and adopted a shortest-path strategy based on examples from leading companies. It moved away from an environment where paper-based and stamped procedures remained in place, reducing the work involved in collecting and transcribing data and handling spreadsheets, and shifted toward initiatives centered on data-driven management. The development of the necessary data infrastructure was described as a phased policy taking future AI applications into consideration.
