Daido Steel has developed a new alloy, DSA D22, for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. It is a nickel-based corrosion-resistant alloy designed to reduce costs by improving machinability while maintaining high corrosion resistance.
Daido Steel announced that it has developed a new alloy, DSA D22, as a highly corrosion-resistant material for use in semiconductor manufacturing equipment and other applications. DSA D22 is a nickel-based corrosion-resistant alloy with gas-corrosion resistance equivalent to DSALOY22, a material comparable to Hastelloy C-22.
A key feature of DSA D22 is its significantly improved machinability through reduced alloying. The company aims to support both the wider adoption of highly corrosion-resistant materials and lower component costs for manufacturers of semiconductor manufacturing equipment and components.
The semiconductor market is expanding rapidly as AI demand grows and the digital society advances. The semiconductor manufacturing equipment market in 2025 is reportedly expected to increase by approximately 15% year on year to approximately $135.1 billion.
