白洋舎 revised its forecast for current-year consolidated ordinary profit downward to a 23.1% decline from the previous forecast. The second-half plan was also reduced substantially, while the company is expected to maintain its previous dividend policy. The reasons cited include continuing inflation, higher personnel expenses and lower collection volumes.
After the close of trading on 28 October, 白洋舎 disclosed a revision to its current-year earnings forecast, reducing its forecast for consolidated ordinary profit for the fiscal year ending December 2026 from ¥2.7 billion to ¥2 billion. This implies a 23.1% year-on-year decline. It also reduced its forecast for consolidated ordinary profit in the July–December period from ¥1.89 billion to ¥1.19 billion.
The reasons for the revision included continuing inflation, higher expenses associated with the situation in the Middle East, higher personnel expenses and lower collection volumes in the dry-cleaning business as households increasingly seek to economize. The company said that improving profitability would be difficult even while pursuing structural reforms and appropriate price revisions amid these challenging conditions.
For current-year net income, gains on the sale of fixed assets and other items recorded in the first half are expected to secure an increase in net income attributable to owners of the parent, although the forecast was revised downward from the previous estimate. The company plans to maintain the previous forecast of an annual dividend of ¥100.
