FANCL is advancing its research into skin brightening by focusing on the antioxidant power of melanocytes and plans to launch a medicated skin-brightening serum in February 2027. A survey found that many respondents viewed skin-brightening care as never-ending.
FANCL is advancing its skin-brightening research with a focus on antioxidants and is examining the potential to address recurring concerns over dark spots by focusing on the antioxidant power of melanocytes themselves. A survey of 1,030 women in their 20s to 60s who use skin-brightening products daily found that 85.4% feel that skin-brightening care is never-ending.
The company plans to develop the research findings into the medicated skin-brightening serum Brightening Clear Tone Essence (quasi-drug), scheduled for launch on 16 February 2027 at 18mL and ¥3,520.
The background is that the growing number of skincare options as information becomes more widely available is making it harder for individuals to determine the care their own skin needs.
Through the rollout of the new product, FANCL says it will present a new approach to recurring concerns over dark spots.
