イムラ released its results for the interim period of the fiscal year ending January 2027, covering February to July 2026. Revenue was ¥11.345 billion and operating profit was ¥687 million, both substantially lower than in the same period a year earlier, as higher depreciation expenses for the new plant pressured earnings, while packaging expanded and a subsidiary returned to profitability.
イムラ released its consolidated results for the interim period of the fiscal year ending January 2027. Revenue fell 3.2% year on year to ¥11.345 billion, operating profit declined 43.4% to ¥687 million, and ordinary profit fell 43.0% to ¥716 million. Lower demand from government agencies and higher depreciation expenses following the start-up of the second plant at the Nara Shinjo plant weighed on earnings.
The Packaging Solutions business recorded revenue of ¥7.905 billion and operating profit of ¥588 million, both below the previous year. While envelope volumes have declined since the postal rate revision, demand for stock-related envelopes has shown signs of increasing, and the company is also working to expand its packaging sales network. The depreciation burden from the new plant is expected to ease over time.
The Mailing & Digital Solutions business recorded revenue of ¥2.154 billion and operating profit of ¥59 million, both significant declines. Other businesses, however, recorded revenue of ¥1.285 billion, up 35.1% year on year, and operating profit of ¥31 million, returning to profitability. Contributions came from stronger management systems and expanded sales channels at the overseas subsidiary in Vietnam, as well as expanded sales channels at domestic subsidiaries.
The full-year outlook remains unchanged from the initial plan, at revenue of ¥22.5 billion and operating profit of ¥700 million. Interim-period EBITDA was ¥1.314 billion, down 21.0% year on year, but is expected to recover to ¥2.089 billion for the full year. Financially, the company plans to reduce short-term borrowings and increase long-term borrowings, while making repayments in line with accumulated profits. Annual dividends will remain at ¥30 per share, and the company will conduct a share repurchase of up to 100,000 shares and ¥100 million.
In summary, although the new plant’s depreciation burden remains, packaging expansion and the return of subsidiaries to profitability are progressing, supporting expectations for improved earnings in the second half.
