The new Apple TV 4K (fourth generation) has been announced, with a Japan price of ¥49,800 including tax. Pre-orders opened on 13 October 2026, and the device will launch on 13 November. The chip has been upgraded to the A19, with CPU performance expected to improve by up to 50% and GPU performance by up to 2x compared with the previous generation.
The new model supports full surround sound using 4 HomePods, creating a home theater with an expanded front-to-back soundstage. The 4 speakers can automatically determine their placement in the room and optimize the sound and volume. Thread is also supported, making it easier to connect with smart home devices.
A new remote feature adds support for the Find My app, allowing users to play a sound on the Siri Remote from an iPhone to locate it. Siri AI is scheduled to launch as an English-language beta in 8 countries, including the United States, but is currently unavailable for use in Japan.
Its capabilities as a TV-centered home hub have also been enhanced, allowing smart devices such as doorbells to be controlled through the TV. Secure Exclave strengthens protection for microphone audio data.
