Hitachi Construction Machinery’s RBT remote-operation solution, the “ZX200A-7,” and the “RBT Portable” set of remote control, monitor and camera will be used in the e-Kenki Challenge 2026 competition and hands-on event. Remote operation will link the Roppongi venue with the actual-machine venue in Chiba.
“e-Kenki® Challenge 2026” is a competition aimed at promoting remote construction and developing talent. Hitachi Construction Machinery will showcase its RBT-series remote-operation solution at the event, using the ZX200A-7 (20-ton class) and RBT Portable as competition machines. The competition will link the remote-operation venue in Roppongi with the actual-machine operating venue in Chiba City, where participants will remotely perform work simulating a construction site.
The event will run over 2 days: a technology introduction and panel discussion from 12:00 to 16:45 on 2 October 2026, followed by a competition for the general public and students from 10:00 to 16:30 on 3 October. Hands-on booths will also be set up at the venue.
The competition will simulate excavating actual soil and loading it into a carrier dump truck. Evaluation will cover not only remote-operation speed but also loading weight and safety. A remote-operation hands-on session for visitors, a “Heavy Equipment Fandom” booth and talk sessions are also planned.
