On-demand distribution of a lecture by an IIJ department head on implementing distributed digital infrastructure beyond power and cooling constraints in the AI era has been released. The lecture explained the importance of integrating power supply, cooling and networking in AI infrastructure design.
As generative AI and Agentic AI become more widespread, AI infrastructure must be designed around the integrated requirements of not only GPU performance but also power supply, cooling, networking and the placement of computing resources. Drawing on insights gained from demonstrations of high-density AI infrastructure, Murosaki (室崎) introduced the division of roles between training and inference, watt-bit coordination, and the concept of regionally distributed digital infrastructure.
The modular edge data center "DX edge Cool Cube" was introduced as an example of deploying AI infrastructure closer to the worksite. The on-demand distribution covers the session held in Ochanomizu, Tokyo, on 3 September 2026.
The lecture presented an approach aimed at the integrated optimization of power supply, cooling and networking as a new perspective on AI infrastructure design. The release of the on-demand distribution enables the sharing of insights useful when considering implementation at operational sites.
