Shikoku Electric Power revised upward its consolidated earnings forecast for fiscal 2026 and projects a final net profit of ¥37.5 billion. The improvement in earnings from a review of transmission and distribution network usage charges was cited as a factor.
On 30 October, Shikoku Electric Power revised upward its consolidated earnings forecast for fiscal 2026, projecting a profit ¥7.5 billion higher than its previous forecast. Final profit is consequently expected to reach ¥37.5 billion.
In its consolidated second-quarter results for the six months ended September 2026, also announced that day, revenue rose 8.9% year on year to ¥419.1 billion, while net profit fell 18.1% to ¥40.6 billion. Sales revenue increased as wholesale electricity sales volume rose and selling prices increased, but higher fuel costs, electricity procurement costs from external sources and thermal power generation costs weighed on profit.
President Miyamoto Yoshihiro (宮本喜弘) cited fluctuations in fuel prices resulting from international conditions and exchange-rate trends as risks, and said that the business environment remained challenging: “We want to ensure that we achieve our full-year earnings targets.” The company indicated that it would continue working to improve earnings.
