ロジネットジャパン has decided to build the Obihiro Center (provisional name) and held a groundbreaking ceremony on 29 September. Operations after completion are expected to be handled by consolidated subsidiary 札幌通運, with completion scheduled for January 2028.
The center will be built in an industrial park in Obihiro. The site will cover 14,877 square metres, with a total floor area of 3,045 square metres, and the facility will be a two-story steel-frame structure. The cargo-handling area will be expanded to approximately twice the size of the existing facility, and a temperature-controlled warehouse will be newly built to strengthen storage capabilities for temperature-sensitive cargo.
The center will provide convenient access to JR Freight's Obihiro Freight Station and serve as a broad-area transshipment hub centered on the Tokachi region, while also expanding and streamlining the logistics network across eastern Hokkaido.
