Shokz Japan announced that it will launch the open-ear true wireless earbuds “OpenFit Air 2” and bone-conduction headphones “OpenRun Air 2” on Wednesday, 16 September 2026. It also announced that, coinciding with the launch, Akasaki Akira (赤﨑暁), a member of Japan’s men’s marathon team at the 2024 Paris Olympics, will newly join the “Shokz athlete” program.
Key features of the OpenFit Air 2 include an approximately 17.2% reduction in weight compared with the previous model, a weight of 7.2g per earbud, and a comfortable fit with reduced pressure, enabled by a 0.75mm nickel-titanium alloy frame. Bassphere drivers and Shokz’s OpenBass 2.0 algorithm deliver bass and depth of sound, while 4 preset EQs and 2 custom EQ modes are available.
The OpenRun Air 2 is approximately 9% smaller than the OpenRun and features a lightweight 26.4g body, enhanced bone-conduction sound through PremiumPitch 3.0, up to 10 hours of playback, and IP67 water- and dust-resistance. The shorter charging time also enables longer use with quick charging.
