Tokyo stocks rebounded for the first time in 3 days, with the Nikkei 225 up ¥328.34 from the previous day at ¥65,856.43. Buying emerged in some AI-related stocks, while trading activity across the market as a whole remained subdued.
The Nikkei 225 ended higher than the previous day, while TOPIX also rose at a high level. Trading volume exceeded 1.9 billion shares, and trading value was just under ¥7 trillion.
Buying emerged in some artificial intelligence-related stocks, and there were periods when the market was pushed higher, led by AI-related stocks. However, investors continued to take a wait-and-see approach ahead of earnings results from major US semiconductor company Nvidia.
By sector, nonferrous metals, insurance and securities stocks rose, while transportation equipment and marine transportation stocks declined. Standard TOP20 and growth-related stocks also showed periods of soft trading.
