Under its long-term vision SF2030, OMRON Corporation is advancing its transformation into a GEMBA DX company that uses front-line data and know-how. It will integrate devices, data, know-how and technology to provide solutions to customer challenges as data services.
OMRON Corporation has set out a policy of pursuing its transformation into a “GEMBA DX company” and broadly developing data services that solve front-line challenges by leveraging its 4 strengths: devices, data, know-how, expertise and technology. To contribute to addressing the 3 social challenges set out in its long-term vision SF2030, the company will identify customers’ fundamental challenges based on data and provide consistent support from implementation through operation and improvement.
The company positions its ability to understand the meaning of data and identify customer challenges as a source of competitive advantage, combining data accumulated at the front line with know-how and expertise built up over many years. It will strengthen the creation of data services by using device connectivity, AI, data analytics and data integration technologies, while also incorporating collaboration with external partners, including JMDC’s ability to use health data.
The realization of GEMBA DX aims to solve customers’ front-line challenges and feed data back into management decision-making through the use of a broad range of front-line data, including combinations of OT data from manufacturing sites and health and lifestyle data. The company will strengthen its structure for the IAB, HCB and SSB businesses to provide optimal solutions centered on devices and connected with devices from other companies and IT systems.
In the industrial sector, the company will support productivity and quality improvements and equipment maintenance by integrating and visualizing data from manufacturing sites, while developing this over time into data services that connect front-line data to management decision-making. In healthcare, it has outlined plans to support early detection and preventive action through the prediction and visualization of disease risk.
