Shares of 正力新能 surged after the company, one of the new-energy stocks in the Hong Kong market, raised its earnings outlook and lifted its interim net profit forecast to approximately RMB400 million. 立新能源 also released its half-year results, reporting sharp year-on-year increases in revenue and net profit, while the impact of finance costs and signs of overheating in share prices have raised concerns.
正力新能 released an outlook for net profit of approximately RMB320 million–RMB400 million for the six months ending 30 June 2026, and its share price rose by more than 5% in trading thereafter. A significant increase in profit is expected compared with the previous period.
According to the announcement, the positive outlook reflects the start-up of new production capacity and a substantial increase in shipments, particularly higher energy storage battery shipments that are lifting sales, as well as improved profitability resulting from lower selling, general and administrative expenses.
立新能源 reported first-half revenue of RMB644 million and net profit attributable to owners of the parent of approximately RMB73 million, both significantly higher year on year. However, finance costs remained high, and the company's high debt ratio has contributed to short-term volatility in its share price.
A comparison of the two companies indicates that 正力新能's profit growth is being driven by underlying business growth and cost management, while there have been suggestions that 立新能源's share price is being driven by speculative capital and market sentiment.
