The Link-U Group announced a capital and business alliance with Crunchyroll. It aims to expand Crunchyroll Manga overseas and maximize IP value by increasing the regions in which the service is available and the number of titles offered.
The Link-U Group has entered into a capital and business alliance with Crunchyroll, LLC and クランチロール株式会社, and outlined plans to accelerate its overseas expansion by using IP spanning manga and anime. Crunchyroll's global anime brand and established overseas subscriber base were cited as key strengths.
The joint development agreement (JDA) was signed in September 2025, and Crunchyroll Manga began offering its service in the United States and Canada in October 2025. With the participation of Japanese publishers, the number of titles available has now more than doubled since launch, while membership has also continued to grow steadily.
The key pillars of the business expansion are the expansion of the overseas manga distribution platform and strengthening of its localization capabilities, the development of infrastructure supporting overseas digital manga distribution, and the expansion of overseas IP-related content and services. Through these initiatives, the company aims to support the growth of the domestic and international content industries.
Crunchyroll, LLC and クランチロール株式会社 have outlined plans to pursue collaboration aimed at maximizing IP value centered on manga and anime, while strengthening global distribution and developing their localization capabilities.
