At its FY2026 earnings briefing, Hokkaido-based Nippon Beet Sugar Manufacturing said operating profit had declined sharply while net income remained high. The company said it would strengthen shareholder returns by shifting to a DOE 4.0% dividend policy and carrying out a 1:3 stock split.
Hokkaido-based Nippon Beet Sugar Manufacturing (2108.T) held an earnings briefing on 19 September, reporting revenue of ¥68.696 billion, operating profit of ¥52 million, down 90.3% year on year, and net income of ¥50.32002 billion for the fiscal year ended March 2026, indicating a pronounced distortion in its earnings mix. To strengthen shareholder returns, the company said it would change its dividend policy to target DOE of 4.0% and carry out a 1:3 stock split effective 1 October 2026. It also expects a dividend of ¥160 for the fiscal year ended March 2026 and a post-split dividend of ¥90, equivalent to ¥270 before the split.
As a secondary factor, the sale of 6 strategic shareholdings in fiscal 2025 generated a cash inflow of ¥8,070 million and extraordinary gains of ¥6,978 million, contributing to the increase in net income. While the company was affected by raw-material conditions resulting from unfavorable weather, the shift in capital policy supported its financial position. The company announced an outlook for the fiscal year ending March 2027 of revenue of ¥69.0 billion, operating profit of ¥1.3 billion and net income of ¥4.8 billion, saying that contributions from new businesses would become important as weather conditions recover.
