レゾナック will participate in a green ammonia supply business jointly pursued by Asahi Kasei and JGC Holdings, using green hydrogen. Supply for flue-gas denitrification is scheduled to begin at 4 thermal power plants in Fukushima Prefecture.
レゾナック announced that it will participate as a green ammonia supplier in a project led by Asahi Kasei and JGC Holdings to develop a large-scale alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production system and demonstrate a green chemicals plant. The ammonia is scheduled to be used for flue-gas denitrification at thermal power plants in Fukushima Prefecture.
JGC Holdings began producing green ammonia at a demonstration plant in Namie in January. レゾナック is purchasing green ammonia from JGC Holdings and has been progressively starting to supply it to thermal power plants in Fukushima Prefecture since September.
The supply destinations are JERA's Hirono Thermal Power Station, the Nakoso Power Station of Joban Joint Power and Hirono IGCC Power, the Shinchi Power Station of Soma Kyodo Power, and Tohoku Electric Power's Haramachi Thermal Power Station.
