Silver Life, which operates meal delivery services for older adults, has taken on logistics operations for NH Foods' new Stamitus frozen vending-machine service. It will provide frozen storage at a logistics center in Kazo, Saitama Prefecture, and handle delivery to sales locations and product replenishment using its low-temperature route logistics network.
Silver Life announced that it has taken on logistics operations for NH Foods' new Stamitus frozen vending-machine service. The engagement is a new logistics outsourcing project for the company, and is expected to provide a service combining frozen storage and delivery.
The logistics center in Kazo, Saitama Prefecture, will serve as the fulfillment base. Products will be stored frozen, then delivered to sales locations using Silver Life's low-temperature route logistics network, with replenishment carried out as needed. This is expected to establish Stamitus' distribution infrastructure.
Stamitus was introduced at Kawai Juku Chikusa School in Nagoya as a frozen vending machine installed inside a cram school. NH Foods aims to expand the initiative to cram schools nationwide, starting with this deployment.
Silver Life has indicated a policy of expanding the business going forward, with a view to increasing the volume handled and the service area. It is also considering using Narita Refrigeration's storage and delivery base in Nagoya.
