TEPCO Energy Partner will launch the TEPCO Eshi-katsu (environmental value) Program on 2 November, awarding points for CO₂ emissions reductions from residential EcoCute systems as environmental value. It will also roll out campaigns related to the new Electrification Plus tariff plan for electrified homes.
TEPCO Energy Partner will aggregate CO₂ emissions reductions from residential EcoCute systems as environmental value and return them to customers as Kurashi TEPCO Points through the TEPCO Eshi-katsu (environmental value) Program, which launches on 2 November. The initiative is described as the first of its kind by a former general electric utility and will be used for decarbonization efforts through certification under the J-Credit Scheme. Participants will receive 500 points upon enrollment and 30 points each month, with the membership period set at 8 years from the enrollment date. Requirements include enrollment in an eligible electricity tariff plan and web membership service, as well as conditions relating to the installed equipment.
Eligible EcoCute manufacturers are Corona, Daikin Industries, Chofu Seisakusho and Panasonic, with Mitsubishi Electric scheduled to be added later. Online applications for the new Electrification Plus plan will open on 14 October, and the Electrification Plus Hajime-toku! Campaign will run through 31 March 2027. Customers using eligible plans will receive benefits including points, home appliance repair services and prizes through a lottery. Broadcasting will also begin for a new television commercial, “Local Consumption of Electricity: Denkaman,” which promotes the appeal of electrified homes combining solar power generation and energy storage equipment.
