Zenken will begin full-scale development of ZenNxt Labs, a service supporting the establishment of development labs staffed by highly skilled IT engineers in India, from August 2026. Against a backdrop of difficulties hiring in Japan, the service builds development teams through technical screening by a local former CTO and a small-scale start under a contract-based model, with the possibility of transitioning to direct employment or a global capability center (GCC) in the future.
Zenken announced that it will begin full-scale development of ZenNxt Labs, a service supporting the establishment of development labs using highly skilled IT talent in India, from August 2026. The service focuses on talent in fields including AI, data science, full-stack development and security, where hiring is difficult in Japan, and supports everything from team formation and launch in India through to operations.
The service uses the proprietary talent network held by Zenken’s subsidiary ZENKEN INDIA LLP and technical screening conducted by a local former CTO. It will establish a system to narrow down candidates who meet the requirements and support clients through interviews, contracting and the start of assignments.)
The engineers will remain based in India while participating in development projects in collaboration with Japanese companies, initially starting with a small number of people under a contract-based model. The service also offers the option of transitioning to direct employment in the future and then to a global capability center (GCC).
Against the backdrop of the shortage of IT talent in Japan, a growing number of companies are considering establishing design and development bases in India. Zenken aims to introduce the service to 10 companies during fiscal 2026 and support the strengthening of development capabilities in terms of both technical expertise and organizational operations.
