According to the 2026 Global Top 500 New Energy Companies Competitiveness Analysis Report published by the China Energy Economics Research Institute, an institution affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences, total sales of the world's top 500 companies rose 10.89% year on year to ¥10.59 trillion, maintaining double-digit growth. The report noted that the global new energy industry's expansion continued despite the complexity of the external environment.
The report found that Chinese companies accounted for the largest number of ranked companies, at 260, and their share of total sales reached 51.84%. This showed that Chinese companies continued to account for more than half of the global new energy industry.
Average sales per company rose 10.94% year on year to ¥21.183 billion, meaning that, together with total sales, two key indicators exceeded the ¥10 trillion and ¥20 billion milestones, respectively. The report explained that the balance of power in the global market is shifting significantly, despite the influence of geopolitical factors.
