Fuji Media Holdings announced a policy of investing approximately ¥15 billion in human capital over 5 years and establishing a talent base to promote the development of the intellectual property value chain in an integrated manner.
Fuji Media Holdings (FMH) positioned human capital as capital that generates corporate value in its medium-term management plan, the “Group Vision.” As one of the pillars supporting growth, the company indicated a policy of investing approximately ¥15 billion over 5 years and said it would develop a talent base capable of consistently promoting the development of the intellectual property (IP) value chain.
Measures to strengthen coordination between frontline operations and management included assigning HR managers and developing a specific talent portfolio in anticipation of global expansion. The company also expressed the view that it is important to align existing systems and compensation structures with the strategy of the organisation as a whole.
Frontline employees expressed the need to address the talent shortage and accept a diverse range of talent. The company explained that it would consider recruitment and placement with the 5-year investment at the centre of its plans, while reviewing the positions and skills required by each department.
The company emphasised the need to integrate its management and talent strategies and strengthen the speed of execution and transparent information sharing during the period of transformation. It also pointed to the need to foster a positive internal atmosphere and employee buy-in.
