AISIN CORPORATION, a world-class mega-supplier of automotive components, unveiled the progress of 10 technologies under its medium-term plan at a hands-on test-drive event at its Toyokoro test facility. The breadth of its technology portfolio was highlighted alongside comments from participants.
On 2 September, AISIN CORPORATION held a hands-on test-drive event at its Toyokoro test facility, providing a detailed look at the progress of its medium-term plan. Motor journalists and other participants commented that the event was informative and that they had not expected the company to be capable of so much, highlighting the breadth of its technologies as a key takeaway.
A total of 10 technologies were presented. They covered a broad range of vehicle functions, including stress-free entry, optimisation of components for gigacasting, and a high-capacity motor hybrid for large vehicles, spanning vehicle access, power, control and comfort. They also extended into areas such as the integration of BEV peripheral systems and vehicle dynamics control.
AISIN CORPORATION has adopted the policy of making every aspect of mobility comfortable and set a target of becoming a Tier 0.5 supplier. Tier 0.5 refers to a supplier that is extremely close to an automaker. The company explained that its aim is to strengthen its ability to propose individual technologies and improve quality, while enhancing its ability to communicate beyond the framework of a subcontractor.
The hands-on test-drive event provided an opportunity to demonstrate the comprehensive capabilities of the AISIN Group, which is involved not only in transmissions but also in a wide range of vehicle functions, including brakes, suspension, drivetrains and integrated control.
