KOMORI CORPORATION held a hands-on printing event at its Tsukuba Plant in conjunction with the Tokyo Camera Club Photo Exhibition. Participants observed and experienced printing their own photo data on multiple paper types using the J-throne 29.
KOMORI CORPORATION (Sumida-ku, Tokyo) held the “KOMORI Printing Experience Event” at KGC within its Tsukuba Plant on 3 and 4 August, in conjunction with the Tokyo Camera Club 2026 Photo Exhibition. The event aimed to introduce KOMORI’s business and the social role of printing, as well as provide a tour of the manufacturing site.
The central feature was a demonstration of the printing process using the J-throne 29 B2 sheetfed UV inkjet digital printing press. Visitors observed at close range how their own photo data was transformed into physical printed materials, and experienced how the impression changed when printed on different paper types, including glossy paper, matte paper, Japanese paper, and VANNUVO fine paper.
An experimental demonstration was also conducted in which a single work was printed on different paper types using the machine’s UV ink characteristics. The experience was designed to allow visitors to see the differences in the finished results produced by each material. The factory tour also introduced how printing presses are manufactured.
