ALiNKインターネット has revamped the hiking index on tenki.jp Mountain Weather, jointly operated with the Japan Weather Association, to show time-of-day ratings, and has begun displaying the ratings for each of 3 time periods over the next 3 days, along with the reasons supporting each rating.
The tenki.jp Mountain Weather hiking index has changed from 1 index per day to time-of-day indices covering 3 days. This allows users to check conditions at the start of an early-morning hike, during the daytime and around the time of descent.
With this revamp, 3 time-of-day indices are provided for each of the 3 days from today through the day after tomorrow, giving users weather information suited to their hiking plans.
The index calculation method has also been reviewed, and the reasons supporting each rating have been added. The service plans to continue providing easy-to-understand weather information, from planning before a hike through the hike itself.
As a result, hikers can refer to information for specific purposes, such as checking early-morning conditions, understanding daytime conditions and confirming the weather around the time of descent.
