Nikkiso's CE&IG Group has announced P2KHF, a next-generation reciprocating pump for hydrogen fueling stations. Testing confirmed that losses of liquefied hydrogen could be kept below 1%, with annual savings per unit expected to reach up to $150,000.
The Nikkiso Group has announced P2KHF, a next-generation reciprocating pump designed to significantly reduce boil-off gas at hydrogen fueling stations. The CE&IG Group is combining its accumulated technical expertise to optimize the pressurization and transfer processes for liquefied hydrogen.
In testing at a hydrogen fueling station in California, P2KHF reportedly demonstrated that losses of liquefied hydrogen in the pump discharge piping could be kept below 1%. This is expected to significantly reduce annual hydrogen losses per pump.
P2K has more than 25 years of operating experience, with over 1,775 units in service worldwide. Building on this track record, P2KHF is also expected to reduce cooldown times and delivery lead times.
The CE&IG Group said it will continue strengthening its response to customer needs to promote the adoption of hydrogen energy and help realize a sustainable society.
