On 6 August 2026, 株式会社Lister published the China Physical AI Industry Analysis Report 2026, an analysis of 180 major physical AI-related companies in China. The report covers company information, product categories, commercialization status and links with Japan, including Japanese subsidiaries, distributors, partnerships, demonstrations and sales. Graphs of the analysis results are available on a dedicated website, along with a PDF version and a detailed company database, all provided free of charge.
In terms of commercialization, 61 of the 180 companies covered have paid deployments, while 85 are in mass production and ongoing sales, for a combined total of 146 companies, equivalent to 81.1% of the total. All 31 industrial and collaborative robot companies are classified as having paid deployments, mass production or ongoing sales. In the AMR and logistics segments, 16 of 16 or 16 of 17 companies are at one of the same stages. This shows that commercialization is progressing beyond technology demonstrations to actual commercial deployment.
The top five regions by head office location as industrial clusters are Guangdong Province with 52 companies, Beijing with 39, Shanghai with 27, Zhejiang Province with 23 and Jiangsu Province with 16. Together, they account for 157 companies, or 87.2% of the total. Different industrial clusters, including AI research, hardware, manufacturing and logistics automation, have formed in each region, contributing to company growth.
For Japanese companies, 85 companies are at the commercialization stages of paid deployment, mass production or ongoing sales, while some have limited links with the Japanese market. The report notes that these companies may attract attention as potential next market entrants, prospective competitors, distributor candidates, procurement candidates or joint development candidates for Japanese companies.
The report and detailed database can be used by manufacturers and logistics companies, trading companies, distributors and SIers, component and equipment manufacturers, financial institutions and investment firms, and corporate planning and new business divisions. They are expected to support the selection of prospective deployments, market and competitor research, and the identification of collaboration opportunities.
