The fourth export-only beer in the SORRY series, “SORRY MIKAN CITRUS ALE,” made with Japanese mandarins and kabosu, has been announced. Overseas shipments will begin in October 2026, while limited quantities will be sold in Japan on a rolling basis.
Yo-Ho Brewing has announced “SORRY MIKAN CITRUS ALE,” the fourth product in its SORRY series of export-only beers made with ingredients unique to Japan. The new product blends mandarin orange puree with orange concentrate and kabosu juice. It is a fruit pale ale with an alcohol content of 5.5% and a volume of 350ml. Overseas shipments will begin in October 2026, with the product scheduled to launch in multiple countries, primarily the United States.
Since the series was created in 2016 as an export brand for the US market, it has included “SORRY UMAMI-IPA,” made with bonito flakes, “SORRY NIPPON CITRUS ALE,” made with yuzu and salt, and “SORRY SAKURA MOCHI STOUT,” made with cherry leaves. This is the series’ first new product in 7 years.
The product is currently exported to 9 countries, including the United States, Australia, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, New Zealand, Norway and Brazil. The United States is the largest export market, accounting for more than half of export volume.
Although domestic sales are primarily intended for the overseas market, limited quantities will also be offered to visitors to Japan. Canned versions will be available in advance at the Shinjuku Kabukicho flagship store from 23 September, followed by a gradual rollout of canned versions at other Shinjuku locations from 2 October. Sales of draft and canned versions are scheduled to begin on 1 November at YONA YONA TOKYO BREWERY and other locations.
