Morinaga Milk Industry conducted a survey on breaks during work among 500 company employees nationwide. The survey examined not only whether people took breaks, but also what they sought from their breaks and what actions they took to switch their mood.
Only 11.4% of respondents felt they had rested sufficiently during their breaks, while about 10% said that the things they considered important during breaks were sufficiently met. The most commonly sought outcome was “wanting to switch my mood.”
The most common action taken to switch one's mood was “drinking a beverage,” and about 70% of respondents said they had experienced a change in mood from “beverages with distinctive aromas or flavors.”
As digitalization advances in today's working environment, 56.0% of respondents said they felt fatigued, suggesting that beverages with distinctive aromas or flavors are viewed as effective for improving the quality of breaks.
The release includes three graphical materials and a PDF as related materials. Morinaga Milk Industry said it would use the survey findings in future proposals on ways of working.
