SATO announced that the wearable voice navigation system “VoiSol Smart” has begun full-scale operation at KANEMATSU ENGINEERING CO.,LTD.'s parts warehouse. The system standardizes put-away, inventory counting and shipping processes for approximately 2,000 types of parts, with the aim of reducing operating errors and overtime.
The wearable voice navigation system “VoiSol® Smart” has been adopted at KANEMATSU ENGINEERING CO.,LTD.'s parts warehouse and has begun full-scale operation. The system covers approximately 2,000 types of production parts and is intended to standardize put-away, inventory counting, picking and shipping processes while minimizing operating errors. It is expected to reduce overtime by approximately 10–20 hours per month per full-time employee.
Previously, parts shelves were not labeled with part names, and operations depended on the memory of experienced workers. This created challenges, including the need for more than 6 months of training and difficulty changing storage locations.
VoiSol® Smart uses shelf locations and colors displayed on a smartphone, together with voice guidance. It reduces operating errors by verifying 2D codes on shelf labels and issuing warning sounds when an incorrect operation is detected. The system was initially scheduled to be introduced for 300 items, but the scope of actual operations has been expanded to 2,000 items.
Key features of VoiSol® Smart include OCR scanning of existing forms, integration with core systems, color coding by shipping destination and 2D code verification on shelf labels. Together, these features enable warehouse operations that do not depend on experience or memory.
