ALC, a U.S.-focused corporate law firm, has welcomed Ogawa Chiharu (小川智春) as of counsel to strengthen its Tokyo office. The move is intended to promote stronger ties between the Japanese and U.S. capital markets, drawing on Ogawa's practical capabilities, including IPO support.
ALC announced today that Ogawa Chiharu (小川智春) has joined its Tokyo office as of counsel. The appointment is part of a strategic strengthening of its legal team to reinforce ties between the Japanese and U.S. capital markets and further enhance its ability to support Japanese companies seeking access to U.S. markets.
Ogawa is experienced in legal practice in both Japan and the United States and has supported IPOs by Japanese companies, with a track record of successfully completing 4 IPOs. Ogawa graduated from the Faculty of Law at Keio University and holds an LL.M. from Temple University. In addition to being qualified to practise law in California, Ogawa works in Japan as an administrative scrivener.
In addition to its U.S. market practice, ALC provides Japanese companies, boards of directors and financial sponsors with structuring for access to the public markets, and is designing cross-border transactions that ensure consistency between Japanese law and U.S. regulatory standards. It is also expanding its provision of information in both Japanese and English and its weekly newsletter, strengthening the bilingual capabilities of its Tokyo base.
The expanded team is expected to enhance support for Japanese companies seeking to meet the requirements of the U.S. public markets, further solidifying ALC's position as a legal bridge between the Japanese and U.S. markets.
