第一工業製薬 held a DX event in Kyoto City, showcasing applications including AI-based hazard prediction support. The event was co-hosted by 日本新薬, with cooperation from Kyoto City and Ricoh Japan.
第一工業製薬 co-hosted “Digital En-nichi,” a regional contribution event with 日本新薬 aimed at promoting digital transformation among companies in Kyoto City. With cooperation from Kyoto City and Ricoh Japan, the event was designed to foster interaction and knowledge-sharing among companies.
The event featured technologies developed and deployed internally by the company, including its “hazard prediction support AI.” It also introduced the company’s business areas, which focus on chemicals such as low-dielectric resins used in the electronic circuit boards of server components, and explained how the AI identifies potential hazards and suggests countermeasures based on the work being performed and photographs of the worksite.
In the keynote speeches, Professor Hitosugi Taro (一杉太郎) of the University of Tokyo discussed progress in automating research using AI and robots, while Professor Nakano Aiichiro (中野愛一郎) of the University of Southern California explained the future potential of digital twins.
The event also showcased technology in which a robot mixes product samples, such as surfactants, with solvents during on-site operations, while AI uses image analysis to assess the mixing conditions and determine whether they are suitable. The demonstration highlighted the potential for greater efficiency through the partial automation of research and development.
