GeNiE, which operates an embedded finance business, secured 34 business partners and 650,000 cumulative applications within 2 years of launching its service. President Saito Yuichiro (齊藤雄一郎) has set a target of increasing annual contracts to 100,000 by the fiscal year ending March 2028.
GeNiE operates Money no Lamp, a lending-focused embedded finance service, which launched in October 2024. The number of business partners has now reached 34, while cumulative applications have totaled 650,000. Its business partners have expanded to include prominent companies such as and ST, DMM and Yamada Denki.
The number of applications that passed the credit screening process and resulted in contracts exceeded 80,000 during the fiscal year ended March 2026. The contract rate was above 10%, reportedly placing it at a high level compared with the industry as a whole. A user survey found that respondents selected it as a financial service delivered through a smartphone app used in their daily lives.
To acquire new users, GeNiE is advancing integrations tailored to the websites, services and e-commerce sites of its business partners, while also expanding sales through agencies. Going forward, including the pilot launched with Seven Bank in July, it plans to build a customer journey that gradually guides users from small-value trial transactions to bank loans.
President Saito Yuichiro (齊藤雄一郎) has set a target of reaching 100,000 contracts by the fiscal year ending March 2028 and believes that achieving this would secure a position within the industry’s top 10. At the same time, he recognizes that the small number of players entering embedded finance remains a challenge, and aims to promote market growth by developing the market and publicizing examples of its adoption.
