The TSE Growth Index fell sharply for a fifth straight session. Declines in AI-related and major semiconductor stocks dragged down the broader market.
The main indicators of the TSE Growth Market all fell for a fifth straight session today. The TSE Growth Index stood at 950.78 (-21.24), while the TSE Growth Market 250 Index was 751.46 (-17.81). Trading volume exceeded 600 million shares and trading value was approximately ¥215.4 billion. Selling led in individual stocks, including those among the largest by market capitalisation, and the Growth Core Index fell 0.43%.
Although the Dow Average rebounded sharply in the previous day’s US equity session, uncertainty surrounding the situation in the Middle East remained. Falling crude oil futures and lower long-term US interest rates were said to have affected the investment environment. Against this backdrop, selling in AI-related and semiconductor-related stocks was viewed as having spread to the domestic market.
Among individual stocks, ペイクラウド <4015>, データセク <3905> and パワーエックス <485A> declined. Advancing stocks included クラシル <299A>, ティムス <4891> and GENDA <9166>, while AViC <9554> was among the top gainers. Overall market sentiment shifted from morning buying to afternoon selling, and trading volume was heavy.
