PLiBOT announced that it will test an operating model for centrally integrating and controlling robots from different manufacturers, existing facilities and human operations at an operating warehouse of The Sumitomo Warehouse Co.,Ltd. The demonstration will run through March 2027, with a results presentation scheduled for May–June of the same year.
In LOAD 2026, an open innovation programme for the logistics sector, PLiBOT (Katsushika-ku, Tokyo) was selected as a co-creation partner by The Sumitomo Warehouse Co.,Ltd. and will test an operating model that integrates and controls different types of equipment and human operations at an operating warehouse.
PLiBOT's platform centrally manages AMRs (autonomous mobile robots) and AGFs (automated guided forklifts) and can integrate with building facilities, such as elevators and automatic doors, and industrial machinery. It uses reinforcement learning to adjust the travel sequence of multiple units, while safety controls continue to be handled by the existing mechanisms, with learning used to assess travel efficiency.
The demonstration will be conducted at an operating warehouse of The Sumitomo Warehouse Co.,Ltd. through March 2027, and a results presentation is scheduled for May–June of the same year. The aim is to establish an operating model that can flexibly deploy multiple transport robots in response to changes in cargo and traffic routes.
The initiative aims to create an environment in which people and robots can work together, and attention is focused on the practicality and scalability of future on-site operations.
