As the yen weakens and stocks rise against the backdrop of Sanaenomics, university trader kaikai has reportedly grown his assets through short-term rotational trading and shared his perspective on investment targets and the outlook for year-end.
Expectations for the economic policies of the Sanae Takaichi administration, known as "Sanaenomics," have driven yen depreciation and stock-market gains, shifting attention in the Japanese market toward strategic investment. In June 2026, details of investment promotion measures for 17 strategic sectors and 62 items were presented, clarifying the direction of public- and private-sector investment.
University trader kaikai says he began investing when he entered university and has grown his assets mainly through short-term rotational trading. Sanaenomics itself encompasses multiple strategies, and he views it as one of several factors affecting the market.
kaikai says he is also watching areas such as aviation, space and defense, in addition to AI and semiconductors, while explaining that he does not target specific stocks based on an excessive focus on the broader theme. He cites the yen's depreciation and the Nikkei's sharp rise as market effects and points to the possibility that current overheating may continue.
Areas attracting attention under Sanaenomics include AI and semiconductors, as well as the aviation, space and defense industries, along with biotechnology, drug discovery and advanced medicine. kaikai says, however, that he excludes the latter areas from his investment targets.
