The interactive art space “CHIMNEY TOWN,” supervised by Nishino Akihiro (西野 亮廣) of King Kong, will be held at Namba Square in front of Nankai Namba Station from 15 October. The event runs through 18 October, from 12:00 to 21:00, with the lanterns lit from 16:00 to 21:00. Admission is free.
Based on the concept “The town gets dressed up,” the project will decorate the venue with approximately 5,000 lanterns and eye-shaped objects, creating a townscape distinct from conventional Halloween events, where people dress up.
Ahead of the event, the Nankai Line, serving the Namba–Wakayamako and Kansai Airport routes, has been operating a specially wrapped train, “The Train Gets Dressed Up: Hyakki Yagyo—Special Train Wrapping,” since 5 October. The train is one 4-car 8300 Series train set.
