Google has opened its first company-operated flagship store outside the United States, Google Store Omotesando, inside Tokyu Plaza Omotesando “Omokado” in Omotesando, Tokyo. The store occupies 3 floors of Omokado, with a launch event and preorders starting on 13 August and sales scheduled to begin on 20 August.
The store spans 3 floors, from the basement level to the second floor. The first floor focuses on Pixel displays and sales, the second floor houses Pixel Studio, an AI-powered experience area, and the basement level provides post-purchase consultations, repairs and setup support. Visitors can try out and purchase the latest devices, including the Pixel 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro XL and 11 Pro Fold, as well as accessories.
As background to market trends, data indicate that Google overtook Samsung to become the second-largest smartphone vendor in Japan, behind Apple, in February 2026. The opening of the Omotesando store is seen as an effort to strengthen the hardware brand experience in the Japanese market.
Pixel Studio on the second floor offers experience areas linked to Gemini and AI demonstrations, including a super-resolution experience with 120x zoom. On the basement level, visitors can receive support with device setup, data transfers and repairs by appointment.
