It was announced that Hitachi, Brookfield Japan and Hartree Partners Singapore signed a memorandum of understanding on 30 September aimed at realizing green data centers in Japan, with Tokyo Gas newly joining their collaboration. This brings the group to 4 companies and formally advances initiatives to promote green data centers.
The purpose of the collaboration is to formulate a basic concept for power-linked green data centers that generate their own energy and provide a stable supply, and to develop a standard model that can be deployed flexibly. The parties say this will reduce reliance on grid power, expand site-selection options for data centers and promote local production for local consumption.
