The new Ask Maps feature has launched in Japan, allowing users to get answers to real-world questions through a conversational interface in Maps.
The feature uses the latest information available in Google Maps to suggest plans tailored to each user, while providing real-time traffic, crowding and public transit delay information.
Personal Intelligence is expected to strengthen recommendations through Gmail integration, and users will be able to resume previous conversations when history settings are turned on.
Following its rollout and reception in the US and English-speaking markets, the feature is being introduced in Japan in stages, with the aim of creating new use cases through the combination of Gemini models and real-world data.
