IPA will exhibit at CEATEC 2026 under the theme PROTOCOL ENGINE. The exhibition will centre on an interactive installation that changes form in response to visitor survey results, along with special programmes and talks. The event will run from 13 to 16 October 2026 at Makuhari Messe.
The Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan (IPA), will exhibit at CEATEC 2026 under the theme PROTOCOL ENGINE as an initiative to envision and co-create the digital society of the future. At the booth, visitor survey results will be reflected in real time, showing how each participant's choices are connected to the creation of social systems by influencing overhead LEDs and the venue as a whole.
Events scheduled during the exhibition include a talk by the president, executive presentations and, on the opening day, a technology discussion titled “Right Brain × Left Brain,” among others. Tsuda Michitaka (津田 通隆) of Open Data Spaces will also give a presentation. The latest developments in the JC-STAR scheme for evaluating the security of IoT products will also be presented, together with prospects for a smart-home society under the new “★2” standard.
CEATEC 2026 will be held from Tuesday, 13 October to Friday, 16 October, at the IPA booth near 6H111 inside Makuhari Messe. The exhibition is positioned against the backdrop of IPA's evolving role in promoting the implementation of digital infrastructure supporting society.
