SANRITSU CORPORATION operates across three core businesses, packaging, transportation and warehousing, and explained the evolution of its international operations and its future growth strategy in an IR interview. It completed its full withdrawal from the Chinese market and is pursuing expansion in the United States, building on its bases in Los Angeles and North Carolina.
SANRITSU CORPORATION's business consists of three core operations: packaging, transportation and warehousing. While its packaging operations require advanced technical capabilities and specialized expertise, the company does not handle food or apparel. In its warehousing operations, it is improving air-conditioning management, establishing high-illuminance environments and enhancing working conditions, while providing high-quality logistics services through customized packaging design.
The company entered the Chinese market in 2005, but began withdrawing in stages from 2015 in light of rising local labor costs and policy trends, completing its full withdrawal in March 2025. By contrast, it entered the U.S. market after the Lehman shock, establishing bases in Los Angeles and North Carolina. It is currently constructing a new base in Savannah, Georgia, with a view to further expansion.
As part of its efforts to strengthen its international operations and pursue its growth strategy, the company plans to shift from an emphasis on operational capabilities to solution-based proposals, using its on-the-ground logistics expertise as a foundation. From a design-for-logistics perspective, it proposes improvements to product design and logistics flows. It plans to build a new warehouse in the Narita area in 2026 to meet rising demand in Japan and overseas. DX is positioned as a key means of improving efficiency as securing personnel becomes more difficult, and is being advanced in three stages: digitalization, data analytics and DX models.
