O-WELL is expanding the value it provides, and quarterly operating profit doubled year on year. As earnings recover, the company is moving from a product-supply model to a one-stop solution model, while also pursuing overseas expansion and growth in its sensor-related business.
Starting with sales of paint-related products and automotive products, O-WELL is expanding the value it provides at manufacturing sites. In the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027, the company reportedly expanded its sales share with automakers, passed on higher procurement costs, and advanced flexible responses across its supply chain.
At the same time, sales of software for car navigation systems increased, while the markets for automotive sensors and motor controllers expanded, causing operating profit to double year on year. In response, the full-year forecast was revised upward.
Over the longer term, the company is pursuing a transition from a product-supply model to a one-stop solution model. It is also advancing the use of OLDAS, which is centered on coating-film formation technology, expanding its overseas business model, and growing its sensor business while adding new functions.
The company has indicated that it plans to direct funds toward growth investments in human resources, overseas operations, technology development, M&A and CVC. Its aim is to accelerate the expansion of the value it provides, based on its existing customer base and technologies.
