Tokuyama Corporation will build a new plant for semiconductor-grade polycrystalline silicon at TOKUYAMA VIETNAM (TVC) in Vietnam, establishing an annual production capacity of 4,000 tonnes. Total investment is approximately ¥8 billion, and commercial operations are targeted to begin in 2027.
Tokuyama Corporation has announced plans to begin producing semiconductor-grade polycrystalline silicon through its Vietnamese facility, TVC. The new plant will have annual production capacity of 4,000 tonnes, and the workforce is expected to grow to approximately 200 employees over time. Total investment is estimated at approximately ¥8 billion.
The new plant building was completed in March. Following the opening ceremony on 13 August, trial crushing and cleaning operations using polycrystalline silicon produced in Japan, along with quality checks, have been conducted. The company aims to establish a stable production and supply system in coordination with its facilities in Japan.
TVC was established by Tokuyama Corporation in 2024 as a wholly owned subsidiary. Tokuyama Corporation entered the polycrystalline silicon business in 1984.
